Kari Castro, Principal

This is my 20th year in education. I started with Gilbert Public Schools in 2021.  I am originally from Illinois and have three amazing daughters! As principal of Mesquite Junior High, my role is to make decisions that are based on student needs. Our goal is for students to gain an education, have fun, and leave prepared for high school. We want our students to feel safe and secure at school in order to achieve their goals. 

MJHS is a place for students to come and feel welcomed and appreciated. We offer opportunities for all students to do things they love and find their people. We know students' personal needs must be met in order for them to be successful, so many resources are available.

Every decision made is in the best interest of the students. I continually promote kindness on campus as is the Mustang way!
