Hannah Tautolo, Dean of Students

Hannah Tautolo, Dean of Students

As a SoCal native, I moved to Arizona by way of Colorado, in order to expand my degrees and begin a career in teaching. I started at Gilbert Public Schools in 2012 with a background in secondary Special Education and ELA, I eventually became a district academic coach for many years before becoming a Dean of Students at Mesquite Junior High in 2023. My collective experience in college athletics, teaching, and coaching at the district level, has ultimately allowed me to better serve communities, campuses, leadership teams, staff, and students.

Mesquite Junior High is a uniquely diverse campus to Gilbert Public Schools. Filled with culture, divergent supports, and a long history, this campus is a place where all are welcome. Our school has an amazing staff that shows up every day to meet kids where they are at and push them towards being better prepared young adults for high school and post-secondary life.

My mission for MJHS is to prepare all students not only for high school but for the post-secondary seasons of life. In my role, I get to help students process academic, behavioral, and social successes and growth. What I like most about Mesquite Jr. High is the student body; our campus is a place where diverse young adults collide with differing backgrounds and experiences, all to foster community and learn from one another.
