STEM in Sports

This course introduces STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) to students through the lens of sports. It is a project-based environment that connects sports and related topics to Arizona Mathematics Standards. Class topics, activities and projects will all be taught through the use of skills, scenarios, and equipment involved with athletics (including football or baseball or softball or volleyball or basketball or soccer). Areas of focus will include data collection and analysis through technology, exploring and modeling of linear and non-linear relationships, application of systems of equations, scale models, critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative work.
